Fun w/ Ninah

Yesterday Edina and Ayden got up and hung out w/ Nana for a bit and then began the day by meeting our close family friend Cortni at Centennial Hills to pick up the wonderful family pics she took for us last week at Floyd Lamb State Park(which was lots of fun!) Then we made the drive to Edina's best friend Ninah's house. We spent the day fussing w/ photoshop making Ayden's birth announcements till we discovered a much easier program w/ more of a scrapbook feel called memory mixer. By then we decided we were WAY hungry and headed off to OG's for some salad and breadsticks, yumm =) Then when we got back to Ninah's we finished the announcement which turned out super cute. Thanks Ninah!!

August 29,2008

On the week of August 29, I, Edina, had a routine appt. and since my midwife was to be out of town, I would see another midwife, Elizabeth(who is my absolute favorite) Will and I seemed to relate to her more and it was a major plus that she's LDS. So, Tuesday came and we went to see Elizabeth. During the appt. Will mentioned that I had been really sick and asked if my migraines and nausea were normal, because the MD had said the were and so had my midwife. However, Elizabeth informed us that this was not normal, and since I had been to the ER that sunday she stepped out to check my tests. She came back and said it sounds like it could be Pre-eclampsia, which is a disease that some women get in pregnancy. There are many risks involved and the only cure is delivery. If a woman gets it early in their pregnancy doctors generally have to terminate but, if you get it later than they need to deliver in order to save the mom and baby. My baby was fine in my situation but since my blood pressure was sky rocketing there was a chance that I could have had a stroke, a seizure, or even fall into a coma....So, tests were run...lots of tests.....and on Friday exactly two hours before I was scheduled to go see Elizabeth for the test results, the phone rang. Elizabeth simply said I have your results and you have pre-eclampsia, I need you to go to Summerlin as soon as you can so we can get the baby out............I can't tell you how scared i was at that moment. All I could do is cry, so I called Will @ work, told him to get home and he was going to be a daddy. Called my mom, and she rushed out of work(she actually beat Will which was suprising since he had already been on his way) Called my dad, who got me to calm down and breathe........Finally we were packed and on our way to the hospital. When I was finally admitted (the nurses almost sent me back home but the dr. said no) I was induced and the night began.....I don't remember much because I was on alot of meds and in a whole lot of pain but, about 25 hours later another Dr. came in the room and said I can either be in another 2 days of labor or I can have a cesarean. I told him I needed to talk to my husband and he told me to talk it over and he'd be back to check on me. I guess he had already decided for me cuz by the time I'd gotten off the phone w/ will( long story short, his sister invited him over for lunch because she thought he needed some attention, and the dumbo actaully left) The nurses had come to prep me. Everything else is a blur, there were complications during my C-section and I was not conscious for it except for when she came out. I remember hearing her cry a gurgly cry and then I guess I was back out because she was sent to the NICU and I didn't know. My husband says from there my blood pressure dropped, my arms fell from the table they were on, my eyes rolled into the back of my head and I just about flatlined. Next thing I remember was people yelling at me to stay w/ them and being in my labor room again. I was on a drug called magnesium, which is scary stuff. They kept me on it until 2 days before I was released so, alot of my pospartum stay is a blur too. On the day I was to be released my blood pressure had sky rocketed again and the dr. came in and told me he wasn't sure if he'd send me home and I might need a cat scan and a blood transfusion.....It was at that moment that I decided I needed a blessing. So, I called my mom and within the hour Bishop Bunker and his son were there giving me a priesthood blessing. Shortly after, I recieved a phone call that my tests came back okay and I could go home. We were soooo happy to be able to take our little girl home finally.

Graduation!!!!!!!!!! Finally!!

On June 22....yes I know it's been awhile but Im finally updating so shut it.
Anywho, this was the day William finally graduated from the union. 5 years is a long time, but we were soooo proud of him, and he was way happy :) It was a very enjoyable ceremony and after all the graduates were presented they exited the stage to "Party like a rockstar" something that Will and his boys were very happy about. Unfortunately, since Will was still on house arrest he was not able to party with his friends so, the next day we hosted a huge family BBQ. So much fun everyone had that day, great food, lots of DVD games, guitar hero on Wii for the kids, and Costco cake. Yumm! (I forgot to take a picture of the cake, and realized it after I had taken a huge piece...I blame it on the baby)

Father's Day!

Father's Day was such a wonderful day for our family. Edina's Dad loved the photo book and said it was the best gift he ever got from her and her brother. He was very touched and this brightened Edina's day. For Father to be day, Edina made a shadow box for William. Earlier in the week she was able to go over to her friend Cortni's for Belly pics for the shadow box. Thanks a bunch Cortni, they turned out great! William was very suprised and LOVED the box. All in all, it was an awesome day :)

Memories.....

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses.

More to come........

Okay so, I've totally been slacking but, keep checking back. I promise to update, I've just been really busy. The air conditioning in the blazer went out two weeks ago, and for those of who know my husband, he's certified to fix cars himself so, needless to say we still don't have air :) But, I will post lots soon including Father's day, graduation, my birthday and pics from the baby shower. So, don't give up on me yet!

Preparing for Father's Day.......

This weekend has been absolutely CRAZY. Will's mom comes in next week for graduation and the family's been getting ready for that. Plus, Edina has had the opportunity to work on a nice photobook to send to her Dad this year for Father's Day. So, after lots of fussing( all from Eric) a family photo was actually taken for the cover of the book. Maybe the fussing stopped because Sunday dinner had finally been eaten, We've found that food makes most of the family cranky if they don't get it by a certain time. All in all it was a GREAT weekend, Edina FINALLY got to see Spiderman 3
saturday and the family ordered Olive Garden take-out which made it even better.
