Mother's Day and Update...

Okay so, I've gotten extremely lazy about my blogging so I thought I'd update....Mother's Day was so awesome! This year Will and I were able to purchase my mom's favorite painting for her. Son of Man: The Worth of a soul by Liz Lemon Swindle. My mom was so moved by this painting and when I walked upstairs and turned it around she was amazed! She couldn't believe we got it for her. Then we exchanged cards and gifts....Will got me a new net book which I really wanted cuz we have lots of computers here but, now I have one that fits perfectly in my purse and can go anywhere and w/ wifi Im able to connect almost anywhere. Mom and Eric got me Ed Hardy shoes but they were a little small so I took them back and got a really cute pair of Ed Hardy sunglasses instead. Last, my husband made AMAZING carne asada for all of us and it was superb.
Ayden has grown sooo much! She's walking(assisted) all over the house and Im pretty sure she's gonna stop holding on to things any day now. She's such a ball of energy and so very sassy, If isn't done her way it aint gonna cut it. She had her first introduction to grass and she was iffy but then decided it was okay...then she tried to eat it...that was the end of the grass adventure. Oh and she's also in KWNR's "That Baby" contest.... please go to www.kwnr.com/pages/thatbabyvoting-a-f.html She's towards the end Ayden2, the contest only goes for another two weeks so, please vote as much as you'd like.

Stick to laying pipe!
So, my wonderful husband is the love of my life but, he tries to fix EVERYTHING. Our computer has been overheating so he decided to clean it out....He took it out to the backyard w/ a can of air and disappeared for an hour, when he came back in it wouldn't even turn on. He talked about some gold prongs being bent off the fan, so we called my uncle to come fix it. Turns out those gold prongs were off the celeron processor. So, im computerless till these weekend when I buy a new motherboard....So no updates till then. So, now all of will's co-workers joke about how if it doesn't deal w/ pipe don't touch it. Oy Vey!

Nascar Truck Series!!!!

Okay, I married into a Nascar lovin' family which is great cuz I love all racing, especially drag. So, ever since will and I have been dating we ALWAYS go to the races starting w/ the trucks series and anyone who knows me, knows that I love loud trucks. So, we head out early every year about 1:30, drive to the speedway, have a BIG tailgate w/ great food(this year we had a turkey my sis in-law roasted the day before)and then head to the track. It was the first time I'd left the house since we came home from having Ayden and my mom watched her so we could go. My friend Kelly came along and she grew up racing and knows the Busch's so, it was nice for her to come out too.
Ayden's Blessing

November 2, 2008 was the day of Ayden's blessing. This had to be THE busiest weekend we've had yet. The blessing was at 9 am and we all(except Ayden) didn't get to bed till about 3 am. We woke up at 6:30 to finish cooking(for the brunch) and to make sure we were all pressed and ready to go at 8:15. We had such a great turnout, and were SO grateful to everyone who came out to be w/ us that day. All of Will's family and lots of my family came. It was such a beautiful missionary experience for everyone, Three of my friends from school also came. Brunch was awesome, the invitation said "light" brunch but as Cortni told us Neither me nor my mom know how to make a "light" anything so, there was LOTS of food. Afterward, we got to hang out w/ my mother in-law and Ayden and mommy took an AWESOME nap!! Thank you to EVERYONE who came, our ward was so big that sunday =)

Fun w/ Ninah
Yesterday Edina and Ayden got up and hung out w/ Nana for a bit and then began the day by meeting our close family friend Cortni at Centennial Hills to pick up the wonderful family pics she took for us last week at Floyd Lamb State Park(which was lots of fun!) Then we made the drive to Edina's best friend Ninah's house. We spent the day fussing w/ photoshop making Ayden's birth announcements till we discovered a much easier program w/ more of a scrapbook feel called memory mixer. By then we decided we were WAY hungry and headed off to OG's for some salad and breadsticks, yumm =) Then when we got back to Ninah's we finished the announcement which turned out super cute. Thanks Ninah!!

August 29,2008

On the week of August 29, I, Edina, had a routine appt. and since my midwife was to be out of town, I would see another midwife, Elizabeth(who is my absolute favorite) Will and I seemed to relate to her more and it was a major plus that she's LDS. So, Tuesday came and we went to see Elizabeth. During the appt. Will mentioned that I had been really sick and asked if my migraines and nausea were normal, because the MD had said the were and so had my midwife. However, Elizabeth informed us that this was not normal, and since I had been to the ER that sunday she stepped out to check my tests. She came back and said it sounds like it could be Pre-eclampsia, which is a disease that some women get in pregnancy. There are many risks involved and the only cure is delivery. If a woman gets it early in their pregnancy doctors generally have to terminate but, if you get it later than they need to deliver in order to save the mom and baby. My baby was fine in my situation but since my blood pressure was sky rocketing there was a chance that I could have had a stroke, a seizure, or even fall into a coma....So, tests were run...lots of tests.....and on Friday exactly two hours before I was scheduled to go see Elizabeth for the test results, the phone rang. Elizabeth simply said I have your results and you have pre-eclampsia, I need you to go to Summerlin as soon as you can so we can get the baby out............I can't tell you how scared i was at that moment. All I could do is cry, so I called Will @ work, told him to get home and he was going to be a daddy. Called my mom, and she rushed out of work(she actually beat Will which was suprising since he had already been on his way) Called my dad, who got me to calm down and breathe........Finally we were packed and on our way to the hospital. When I was finally admitted (the nurses almost sent me back home but the dr. said no) I was induced and the night began.....I don't remember much because I was on alot of meds and in a whole lot of pain but, about 25 hours later another Dr. came in the room and said I can either be in another 2 days of labor or I can have a cesarean. I told him I needed to talk to my husband and he told me to talk it over and he'd be back to check on me. I guess he had already decided for me cuz by the time I'd gotten off the phone w/ will( long story short, his sister invited him over for lunch because she thought he needed some attention, and the dumbo actaully left) The nurses had come to prep me. Everything else is a blur, there were complications during my C-section and I was not conscious for it except for when she came out. I remember hearing her cry a gurgly cry and then I guess I was back out because she was sent to the NICU and I didn't know. My husband says from there my blood pressure dropped, my arms fell from the table they were on, my eyes rolled into the back of my head and I just about flatlined. Next thing I remember was people yelling at me to stay w/ them and being in my labor room again. I was on a drug called magnesium, which is scary stuff. They kept me on it until 2 days before I was released so, alot of my pospartum stay is a blur too. On the day I was to be released my blood pressure had sky rocketed again and the dr. came in and told me he wasn't sure if he'd send me home and I might need a cat scan and a blood transfusion.....It was at that moment that I decided I needed a blessing. So, I called my mom and within the hour Bishop Bunker and his son were there giving me a priesthood blessing. Shortly after, I recieved a phone call that my tests came back okay and I could go home. We were soooo happy to be able to take our little girl home finally.

Graduation!!!!!!!!!! Finally!!

On June 22....yes I know it's been awhile but Im finally updating so shut it.
Anywho, this was the day William finally graduated from the union. 5 years is a long time, but we were soooo proud of him, and he was way happy :) It was a very enjoyable ceremony and after all the graduates were presented they exited the stage to "Party like a rockstar" something that Will and his boys were very happy about. Unfortunately, since Will was still on house arrest he was not able to party with his friends so, the next day we hosted a huge family BBQ. So much fun everyone had that day, great food, lots of DVD games, guitar hero on Wii for the kids, and Costco cake. Yumm! (I forgot to take a picture of the cake, and realized it after I had taken a huge piece...I blame it on the baby)
